Video

For my video, I wanted to make something about what has happened in recent days. I had been thinking about the recent changes we had all been going through because of the coronavirus, so I decided to record a days worth of things I do on a daily basis to make up a summary of my routine. I simply kept my phone on me all day, and when I was about to do something I considered to be a routine, I recorded myself doing it. By the end of the day, I had over 20 clips totaling up to around 7 minutes. I cut out ones that were mundane, and by the time I edited all the clips into one video, I summed up the day in just under 4 minutes. Because I have a pretty annoying stutter, I decided to not record myself with a commentary but instead opted for text pop-ups throughout the video. I tried to make the texts worthwhile, making the point that if we all make a routine, we’ll be better off during this crisis. I was watching the show Friends when I realized that I could make my text font the exact ones used in the show, which inspired me to also find a way to get a filter that made it look like I recorded with a camera from the 90s. The result, I think, was an aesthetic that was pretty unique and cool.
